The Tesotek 2100-B was an ore transport and refinery manufactured by Cygnus.
Description[]
Tesotek 2100-Bs were large spacecraft designed to be towed by K-Class and M-Class vessels. A Docking Army Clamp Connector attached the refinery to the spacecraft, and the refinery was taken under tow to its destination. Each Tesotek consisted of four towers, each designed to undertake a specific stage of ore refinement and storage.[1]
The front left tower was for raw ore storage. The front right tower was the comminution tower where the raw ore was crushed and ground in order to reduce the average particle size. The rear right tower was for separation and concentration where the ore was separated by using dense-medium separation, magnetic separation, and froth flotation methods. The refined ore was then moved into the rear left tower for storage. Dewatering and sedimentation tanks were located on the underside of the Tesotek.[1]
The Tesotek was designed by Hideo Kimura. Originally, the refineries had a dedicated Synthetic Storage Compartment with pre-installed Seegson Corporation cybernetic units to undertake maintenance work on the unit. Following a 2122 legal ruling, Seegson synthetic units were removed from units sold to Weyland-Yutani Corporation.[1]
