The Shinyo Maru was a ship of unknown class privately-owned by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. It was the vessel that rediscovered the Derelict Ship on Acheron (LV-426) following the disastrous mission to Hadley's Hope in 2179.
History[]
At some point following the disastrous USCM mission to Hadley's Hope, the Shinyo Maru was covertly dispatched to LV-426 by Weyland-Yutani to investigate, operating under the command of Seiji Tanaka.[2] Upon reaching the moon, Tanaka's team quickly located the Derelict and discovered that the ship was largely intact, despite the explosion of the Atmosphere Processor at the nearby colony.
