Earth was the homeworld of the human species and the third planet in the Sol System.

Earth was an eclectic mix of natural green vistas alongside dense, packed metropolitan urban areas.[1]
History[]
Past conflicts on Earth had left lingering zones of radiation from nuclear strikes, but the majority of these had been cleaned up by the 22nd Century. Terraforming had brought the planet back from the brink of environmental collapse.[1]
By 2120, Earth was in the Corporate Era, a period when five corporations effectively controlled the planet. Weyland-Yutani Corporation held sway over the entirety of North and South America, Threshold controlled the United Kingdom and European Union, Dynamic ruled over North Africa, Lynch claimed Russia, and the relatively newly-established Prodigy Corporation had all of Asia, Oceania, Southern Africa and Iceland as part of its fiefdom.[2] In 2120, the Weyland-Yutani vessel USCSS Maginot crash landed into New Siam. The vessel was carrying a number of dangerous extraterrestrial species the crew had gathered and catalogued during their long mission.[3]
By 2183, the United States Oil Wars had left North America reeling, and the Australian Rebellion had been put down with a swift nuclear strike to the capital of Canberra.[1]
Lifestyle and Culture[]
Earth was far from a safe place to live, and was still the site of conflict well into the 22nd Century. For the government and corporate elite, Earth catered to them and those that served them. As the cost of living was extravagant, those without wealth often found themselves consigned to live in ghettos in run-down urban metropolises.[1]
The United Americas, Three World Empire, and Union of Progressive Peoples all maintained their seats of power on Earth.[1]
