The deep salvage ship is a starfreighter of an unknown class that was used by the deep salvage team.
While scavenging through space, the salvage ship came across the Narcissus. The ship picked it up and the salvage team analyzed it for any signs of life. After the bio-readouts confirmed the presence of lifesigns, the salvage team entered the Narcissus for visual inspection, finding both Ripley and Jonesy in suspended animation and sending them to the Gateway Station for medical treatment.
