Aliens: Tribes is a graphic novella that was first published by Dark Horse Comics in April 1992. The story was subsequently collected in issue form in the UK as a seven-part story included free with Aliens magazine, Vol. 2 #10-16, in April-October 1993. It was written by Steve Bissette, with artwork by Dave Dorman.

In the Aliens comics line, Aliens: Tribes was preceded by Aliens: Genocide, published concurrently with Aliens: Hive and Dark Horse Presents: Aliens Platinum Edition, and was followed by the movie adaptations Aliens: Newt's Tale and Alien3.

Publisher's Summary[]

This exquisitely produced, Smythe-sewn, embossed hardcover volume features an Aliens tale written by today's master of horror comics, Steve Bissette, accompanied by 24 full-color paintings by the most sought-after painter in the field, Dave Dorman. An Alien has been detected on board a space station orbiting Earth, and a crack extermination team sets out to destroy it. The success of their mission depends on one man's sinister secret. The story is presented in the traditional text format accompanied by full-page color paintings by Dorman. This book also features a dust jacket illustrated by Dorman.

Reprint History[]

A special limited edition hardcover of the book was released in August 1992, featuring a new minimalist cover, plus a special cardboard slipcase and tipped-in signature page with art by Dave Dorman. This edition was limited to just 1,000 copies.

Aliens: Tribes was later serialized and reprinted in the United Kingdom in 7 parts in Aliens magazine, Vol. 2 #10-16, from April-October 1993.
