Aliens: 45 Seconds was a comic book short story published by Dark Horse Comics in Aliens: Special in June 1997. The story was written by Darko Macan and illustrated by Frank Teran. It was edited by Philip Amara & Scott Allie. The issue featured a cover by Teran.

45 Seconds was eventually collected alongside other Aliens comics in Aliens Omnibus: Volume 6 in December 2008.

Aliens: Special was released concurrently with Aliens: Havoc (June-July 1997) and was followed by Aliens: Purge (August 1997).

Official description:

Grendel Tales and X-wing Rogue Squadron writer Darko Macan and Punisher and X-Men artist Frank Teran tell the tale of a Colonial Marine sent to clean out an infestation. He's got a job to do, a pulse bomb with a 45-second detonator, and the clock's ticking.

Behind the Scenes[]

Aliens: Special was a special one-shot issue featuring two all-new stories. The other story was Aliens: Elder Gods by writer Nancy A. Collins and artist Leif Jones.

Critically acclaimed Croatian writer Darko Macan has written a number of Aliens stories and also wrote a number of Star Wars comics for Dark Horse, including the miniseries Star Wars: Chewbacca, Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith, and Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron - The Phantom Affair.
